Yeah For Friday

This was a good and bad week. First the good. The house plans are done and look great. I have met with the builder so many times to get things just perfect. We learned a lot from our first building experience in Michigan and it has helped in better planning with this house. It has been a bonus that the builders office is just behind where we are living. He is kid tolerant and lets me bring the kids to meetings and drops things off at the house. This week we picked out flooring and cabinets to see if what we want would fit in the budget - yeah they did!

The builder went over a building proposal (list of everything included in price) and the price was just under what we were comfortable spending. We put money down on the lot and David is working on getting a construction loan. The builder is eager to start and thinks the house can be completed in 4 months. That would put us in the new house the end of November which is when our lease is up in our current house. It is amazing how everything is working out - praise God for that!!!

Now for the bad. Jett was sick this week and crankier and clingier than normal. He had a fever for 3 days and would not let me put him down. If I had to do something, he occasionally settled for one of the girls holding him. He was very cozy, but I didn't get anything done...including making dinner. We have scrounged for food that is simple to make or had take out every night, but I kind of liked not having to cook! Yesterday Jett threw up on his favorite blanket and lost it because I wouldn't give it to him until it was washed.

I am not sure what was wrong with him, but this morning he woke up without a fever and in a better mood. He ate some breakfast and is playing on his own. Well, I hear him crying downstairs...I better go.

Poor Jett :( And poor you. It's tough when you don't get a break. Sure do miss you guys. I still find myself searching for you after church service to chat. Thanks for posting the picture...the girls are looking older too. Sounds like all the house stuff is really falling into place for you. God has really revealed himself to you through this whole process. Give the kids a hug from us

Hi David, Lisa, and family,
We are so happy to hear of all the wonderful things going on in your life. The kids are looking older, and it's amazing to see that Jett is already beginning to walk about. Hang in there on those tough days! With our kids getting older I just keep saying we will miss this someday, whether we are going through trials or praises! We love hearing about all the advancements with your new home and can't wait to see the end product. Your house back here was great, and by the way the black cabinets are awesome and we can totally see you having them in your house :)! Take care and we will continue to check in from time to time,
Joel, Jennifer, and girls

Hi Guys,

Sorry it has taken me a while to get in touch. Since being out of school time has been flying with the trip to Costa Rica and our family trip to Chicago.

It sounds like the house progress is going very well! God obviously has his hands in it...a kid friendly builder is a huge bonus! I can't tell you how many times an idea popped into my mind while we were building, but I would have to wait until 'bedtime hours' to attempt to contact the contractor. As you can imagine, not to many folks were answering their phones at that time of night!!

I say go for it with the black cabinets! Our island is an antiqued black and it is one my favorite parts of our kitchen.

I am glad to hear Jett is on the mend. When little ones his age are ill it is so difficult because they cannot articulate what is bothering them. Lucas has also been ill recently. For the past 10days he's been dealing with stomach flu symptoms and was admitted into the hospital Saturday for dehydration. After our follow-up visit to the dr. on Monday we did some more test and found out that he also has a urinary tract infection...YUCK!! He also has a small bump above his belly button that has been hurting him. So, we had a CT-Scan today and we are awaiting the results. God has provided comfort to our entire family during this time. Although Travis and I are concerned, our anxiety levels have been quite manageable:) That is DEFINITELY not normal for me, so God is definitely at work:)

How are the girls doing? They look adorable and happy as larks in the pic. Do you feel they are adjusting well?

How is David's job going??? Still well I imagine. We are just waiting for the final word here. Our house is on the market, but no bites yet. With God's help we are trying to remain positive. After all, it has only been listed for 2 weeks:)

As the possible move gets closer I am sure I'll be bending your ear more seeking your expert advice:)

Take care:)
